Everton ‘shopped around’ as alternative US buyers ready to replace 777 Partners takeover

Everton are being informally “shopped around” to prospective buyers as 777 Partners’ takeover continues to rumble on, according to i News.

The outlet reported on its website on Tuesday (30 April) that work is going in the background to try and tap into alternative funding to either support 777 Partners or replace them entirely in a new takeover bid.

While Sean Dyche’s side have been offered around to potential buyers, the current debt at Goodison Park makes it incredibly hard for any prospective owner to complete an acquisition of Farhad Moshiri’s controlling stake.

Sources have claimed that there are alternative US-based investors ready to step in if 777’s deal does collapse, but Moshiri has remained publically committed to getting this deal over the line despite the growing question marks.

What is happening with 777 Partners Everton takeover at Goodison Park?

It now appears that not only are 777 Partners stopping their own takeover at Goodison Park from getting over the line, but the Miami-based firm has also managed to stop other parties from acting upon their interest in the Toffees.

777 have now supported Sean Dyche’s side with upwards of £200million worth of loans and should their takeover collapse any new owner would then likely have to pay that money back once they completed their takeover.

That means that Goodison Park is no longer an attractive prospect for a businessman looking to take his first steps into football club ownership. It is unlikely any other parties will make their interest public while Mohsiri is exclusively dealing with the Miami-based firm.

Hopefully, some clarity will emerge over this deal sooner rather than later as it isn’t any good for anybody involved on Merseyside to have this cloud of uncertainty hanging over them. Whether it will change remains to be seen.
