Everton v Luton Town predicted XI: Sean Dyche to drop Ben Godfrey

Sean Dyche may look to make changes to the team that beat Brentford when Everton take on Luton Town on Friday, 3 May.

The Toffees avoided relegation by beating the Bees 1-0 so this game at Kenilworth Road is now no longer a six pointer.

While it could be a chance for some of the fringe players to get some game time, Dyche is not expected to make wholesale changes to his starting eleven.

Everton to make two changes for the Luton Town clash

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who missed the last game due to an illness, is expected to recover for this one and there’s no reason to keep him out.

While Youssef Chermiti, the £15million summer signing, per the BBC, did decently, he’s still not at the level to start week in and week out.

This could see Dyche moving him to the bench for the England international, who has struggled for the majority of the season to find the back of the net.

Vitalii Mykolenko’s injury absence means that Ashley Young will continue at right-back while the solid performances of James Garner and Idrissa Gueye will see Amadou Onana on the bench for this one.

The other change could be Seamus Coleman coming in for Ben Godfrey, who joined the Toffees for a deal worth £25million in 2020, per the Athletic.

Coleman’s involvement, of course, is contingent on whether or not he recovers from an injury as he remains a doubt for this one.
