Everton set price tag for Amadou Onana as Arsenal transfer update emerges
Everton have set a price tag of £45million on Amadou Onana with Arsenal looking to reignite their interest from the January transfer window, according to CaughtOffside.
Mark Brus reported for the outlet [2 May] that the Belgian is “firmly on the list” of the Gunners this summer.
Sean Dyche’s side could let the 22-year-old go for a fee in the region of £45m, with plenty of sides interested in his signature.
Arsenal had Onana – hailed as “terrific” by Dyche earlier this season – on their radar in January but after talks with Everton, a move to North London never materialised.
Could Everton sell Amadou Onana this summer?
The Belgian international has been one of Everton’s most consistent players over the past few seasons since moving from Lille.
After a £33m switch from Lille [BBC SPORT], Onana has proved to be one of the Toffees’ best signings in an era when this hasn’t always been the case.
There have been no lack of reports regarding financial problems at Goodison Park, which have resulted in points deductions this season.
This may spark a mass exodus this summer but Dyche can’t allow every one of his stars to depart.
There have been links suggesting Jordan Pickford and Jarrad Branthwaite might also leave the club in the summer.
If all three aren’t at Goodison for next season’s opener then there might be trouble come the end of the campaign in terms of another relegation battle.

The move for Onana would make sense financially and for the player in search of Champions League football.
The ramifications must be considered before moving too rashly in the transfer market.
In other Everton news, the club want to sign a young attacker who has been compared to a Champions League winner after his price tag emerged.
