Ross Barkley tipped to haunt Everton v Luton as Gabby Agbonlahor speaks out

Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Ross Barkley to come back to haunt Everton with a goal as he expects Luton to win the Premier League clash at Kenilworth Road.

The former Aston Villa striker insisted that the fans would be up for the game and the fight against relegation, and could be what pushes the home team to take all three points.

It was also said that Luton have players who can make a difference in their team, with Barkley named among them, despite claiming it would be a tough game for the Hatters.

Speaking to talkSPORT [via X, 2 May], Agbonlahor predicted: “Friday night, under the lights, at eight o’clock, Luton play Everton.

“This is a tough game for Luton but hopefully, with Everton’s recent form, they’re more or less safe, Luton can go into this game at home with the crowd on their side and try to get this win.

“I think they will, I think they’ve got players who can make a difference. I’m going to go for a Ross Barkley goal and a 2-1 win to Luton.”

Luton v Everton prediction for Premier League clash

Despite Agbonlahor’s comment that the Toffees are “more or less” safe from relegation, their safety was officially confirmed when their 1-0 victory against Brentford made it four in a row at Goodison Park after wins against Burnley, Liverpool and Nottingham Forest.

This run of form has moved the Toffees away from trouble, but they could still have a deciding impact on the relegation battle with Luton attempting to leapfrog Forest out of the relegation zone, with Everton having beaten the latter already.

With safety already achieved, there is every possibility that Dyche’s team could take their foot off the gas slightly while Luton will know that they can’t pass up an opportunity to take all three points and could capitalise on any weakness.

Both the Toffees and Forest are currently in the middle of points deduction appeals, but it is unlikely those appeals would lead to an increased punishment, although it could pull the sides away from the bottom three.
