Everton defender Vitalii Mykolenko could be sidelined until August amid surgery update
Bryan King fears Everton defender Vitalii Mykolenko could be out of action until August.
The ex-Everton scout feels that Sean Dyche won’t be too concerned about the defender’s injury at this moment in time.
It comes after Everton revealed (30 April) that while he doesn’t require surgery on an ankle ligament injury he has suffered, Mykolenko will not feature for the Toffees again this season.
And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes the left-back could even miss out on pre-season.
“Dyche won’t be too concerned about this injury update now that Premier League survival has been secured,” King said.
“Mykolenko has been a regular over the past couple of months, he has been solid in his play, and now it is about getting himself ready for August.
“Dyche will have accepted that he won’t be able to use the defender again this season, and he might not be able to bring him on the pre-season tour, so it is about getting himself fit for next season.”
Vitalii Mykolenko will be focused on making his return for Everton
Mykolenko recently revealed via his personal Instagram account (30 April) that he is hopeful of making a return for the UEFA European Championships in June.
However, there was no confirmation this would be possible, and if he isn’t able to feature for Ukraine this summer then there is every chance he won’t step back onto a football pitch until August.

Luckily for Dyche, Everton no longer find themselves in a relegation dogfight, otherwise, the loss of Mykolenko might have been a much more costly blow.
In other Everton news, King has slammed a “complicated” Premier League development.
