Senior Everton figures have ‘Major Doubts’ about 777 Partners takeover amid ongoing delays

Senior figures at Everton have “major doubts” about 777 Partners’s protracted takeover of the club amid ongoing delays, according to Team Talk.

Writing on their website (5 May), the news outlet report that as a result there are “several other interested parties” ready to come forward to buy the club from Farhad Moshiri, including American businessman Kevin Malone.

But Malone is waiting for the 777 Partners takeover to play out first before submitting a concrete offer to buy the club, with both the Miami-based investment firm and Moshiri committed to pushing the original deal through.

Everton need a new saviour to keep 777 Partners out

When the deal for 777 Partners was announced back in September, most people celebrated simply because it meant that Moshiri would be leaving.

But as the time has gone on, and more and more issues have emerged with 777 Partners’ own financial state across their multiple other businesses, it’s become very clear that they can’t be allowed to buy the club.

The Premier League have been requesting proof of funds for months and haven’t received it, so everyone should be moving on at this point. 777 even struggled to pay the £16m to keep the club running in April, which is a big red flag.

Dan Friedkin has succeeded where Josh Wander and 777 failed at Everton.

The Toffees need someone to step in who can get a deal done quickly, pass all the tests that need to be done and make a difference immediately. The short-term and long-term future of Everton is at stake.

Who that is, nobody knows, but it seemingly is clear that it can’t be 777 Partners at this stage and now those at the club are finally starting to clock on.
