Everton takeover talks to continue beyond Saturday with 777 deal on brink of collapse

Bryan King believes takeover talks at Everton will continue beyond Saturday amid recent developments.

The ex-Everton scout would be incredibly surprised if an agreement at Goodison Park was reached this week.

It comes after reports that Farhad Moshiri and 777 Partners had sat down for face-to-face talks in London with plans to find a resolution before Everton’s final home game of the season against Sheffield United on Saturday (11 May).

And it has now been reported (via The Telegraph, 8 May) that 777 Partners’ takeover of Everton is on the brink of collapse after crunch talks over the past couple of days left Moshiri unconvinced that the Miami investment firm have the funds to complete a deal.

And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes the takeover saga on Merseyside is set to rumble on.

“Why hasn’t a conclusion been reached already?” King said.

“If it happens then fine but I can see more problems materialising. There is an awful lot of money involved here.

“One minute it is going to be done, the next minute it is stalling and I would be very surprised if any conclusion was reached this week.”

Everton supporters won’t know what to feel after takeover twist at Goodison Park

It appears as if Moshiri is starting to realise what everyone else realised a long time ago.

777 Partners don’t seem to be in any position to complete a takeover at Goodison Park, and it looks as if they could lose their opportunity.

While supporters on Merseyside probably didn’t have much faith in the American investment firm, they will now be left wondering what is next after this latest takeover twist.
