Gabby Agbonlahor shares where Everton boss Sean Dyche now ranks among PL elite managers

Gabby Agbonlahor has lauded Sean Dyche’s achievements with Everton as he ranked the Premier League managers this season.

The Toffees manager steered the club to Premier League safety once again this season, having done likewise after taking over in the second half of 2022-23.

Goodison Park has experienced plenty of drama this season, ranging from points deductions to the current takeover uncertainty still unfolding between Farhad Moshiri and 777 Partners.

Speaking live via talkSPORT on Thursday [9 May, 8:57am], Agbonlahor said: “Getting them out of the danger zone, he’s done an outstanding job.

“With the injuries they’ve had, Calvert-Lewin out for most of the season, I’ll give Sean Dyche number six,” naming Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta and Aston Villa’s Unai Emery among the top five.

Sean Dyche earns respectable ranking after Everton secure Premier League safety

Considering the drama at Goodison Park this season, Dyche has done an incredible job to keep the Toffees afloat in the Premier League.

Against all odds, Everton were able to battle against a total of eight points being deducted and currently sit 11 points above the dreaded dropzone after a run of four matches unbeaten.

The players seem to have taken inspiration from the points deductions, hitting incredible form after the initial 10-point deduction in November. This run saw them beat Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Chelsea and Burnley.

Of course, this would eventually become a six-point deduction before a further two points being deducted in April.

Despite a tough 6-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Dyche would lead his team to victories over Forest and Liverpool before securing their safety with a 1-0 win over Brentford.

The Everton manager has certainly earned himself a top-six ranking this season, while some would suggest he should be even higher for his achievements.
