Everton set for ‘More Chaos’ as player sales ahead at Goodison Park already
Everton are set for “more chaos” this summer with player sales expected after yet more poor financial results, according to Daily Mail journalist Lewis Steele.
Despite securing their Premier League safety in recent weeks, the Goodison Park faithful must brace themselves for the departure of several key assets, as the Toffees aim to balance losses of £89.1million in their latest accounts.
Farhad Moshiri remains in charge as 777 Partners’ bid to purchase his 94.1% stake in the club looks set to fall through, and that leaves Everton in a precarious financial position with chaos expected.
Steele added that key midfielder Idrissa Gueye and captain Seamus Coleman are just two of six players out of contract soon and Kevin Thelwell would provide them with “clarity” before their current deals expire.
Which players could leave Everton this summer?
Everton could line up on the first day of next season with a wildly different starting line-up to the one that beat Sheffield United 1-0 on 11 April.
With almost £90million worth of losses to alleviate whilst still maintaining a squad capable of competing in the Premier League, the Toffees may be forced into selling some of their prime assets this summer.
The most obvious of those is highly-rated centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite – wanted by several clubs including Manchester United – who is valued at £70million alone.

Losing Branthwaite for that value would bring in a significant windfall, but also leave the Blues with a huge hole to fill in central defence that would undoubtedly cost them money to fill.
Amadou Onana is another player with high value tipped to depart, but with Gueye and Andre Gomes both coming to the end of their contracts, the Toffees would have a difficult task to bolster their depleted midfield ranks.
Making the loan deals of Jack Harrison and Arnaut Danjuma permanent would also lead to a significant outlay if the club wish to bring them back to Goodison Park.
With seemingly no light at the end of the tunnel forthcoming after 777 Partners’ efforts to buy the club from Moshiri after eight wasted months, another summer of uncertainty awaits at Goodison Park for Everton and their beleaguered fanbase.
In other Everton news, a competitive auction twist has emerged amid a recent Everton takeover development with Farhad Moshiri looking to sell.
