Farhad Moshiri agrees new Everton takeover deal, The Esk instantly reacts
Everton owner Farhad Moshiri’s decision to extend 777 Partners’ takeover deadline “changes nothing” according to The Esk.
Reports emerged from The Telegraph (14 May) that the Toffees’ owner had struck an agreement with the Miami-based firm to allow them time to complete their takeover before 31 May amid suggestions the deal could collapse.
The original agreement at Goodison Park expired last week and while this new deal gives 777 time to raise the required funds, Blues financial expert The Esk suggests they still won’t be able to match the agreement.
Writing on X on Tuesday (14 May) he said: “Moshiri’s extension of the 777 sale & purchase agreement changes nothing.
“777 are not, and never will be in a position to satisfy the PL conditions nor the conditions of the agreement.”
Will 777 Partners complete their Everton takeover after Farhad Moshiri agreement?
It has been clear ever since 777 Partners emerged as potential buyers at Goodison Park that the Miami-based firm does not have the financial power to take over and run the Toffees successfully.
The company’s other businesses around the world both in and out of sport clearly show this as the likes of Standard Liege, Bonza and London Lions continue to face constant financial issues because of mismanagement.
It had seemed as though Moshiri himself had finally come to realise this when it was reported he was considering alternative buyers, but for whatever reason he appears to remain committed to trying to sell to 777 Partners.
This new extension means that more time will be wasted trying to make this deal work and more money will be pumped into the Toffees by the American firm which will ultimately end up as debt when their takeover fails again.
Hopefully, a new buyer will emerge at Goodison Park sooner rather than later to put this whole farcical ordeal behind the Toffees.
