Josh Wander ‘bullish’ stance on 777 Partners Everton takeover emerges as deal close to collapse

777 Partners co-founder Josh Wander is still “bullish” about the company’s chances of completing a takeover of Everton, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The outlet reported on its website on Tuesday (14 May) that sources close to Wander have suggested he is refusing to accept the reality of the situation at Goodison Park and remains confident 777 will own the Toffees.

Recent reports have suggested the Miami-based firm’s bid to acquire Farhad Moshiri’s controlling stake in the Blues is all but dead, with some even suggesting discussions between the two parties could already have formally ended.

Will 777 Partners and Josh Wander complete their Everton takeover at Goodison Park?

It seems as though everybody other than Wander has accepted that this takeover bid is all but over. Even Moshiri has now begun to see sense and decided to begin looking for alternative buyers amid 777’s latest issues.

The company’s airline, Bonza, has seemingly collapsed, Leadenhall Capital have filed a lawsuit accusing them of running a fraudulent scheme and players and Standard Liege have not been paid. All that has happened in just the last fortnight.

How a company that is incapable of running its current businesses properly is even allowed to consider buying another football club in the world’s most expensive league is bizarre. This takeover simply can’t happen and it doesn’t seem like it will.

Hopefully, Moshiri will be able to find an alternative buyer so that Wander’s dream of taking over the Toffees can finally be put to bed. This deal’s collapse may have bad ramifications, but is clear that 777 Partners aren’t fit to own Everton.

Whether or not he knows that yet doesn’t really matter as long as those with the power at Goodison Park do. This deal simply cannot be allowed to happen and now it doesn’t seem as though it will.
