Arsenal v Everton predicted as supercomputer makes new Premier League title forecast
Arsenal have been given a 61.8 per cent chance of beating Everton on the final day of the Premier League season – but just a 16.3 per cent chance of winning the title, according to Opta Analyst.
Opta’s supercomputer does not rate Everton’s chances at Emirates Stadium particularly highly, giving the Toffees only a 14.3 per cent chance of victory, with a draw rated at 23.9 per cent.
However, with a Manchester City victory over West Ham United given a likelihood of 75.1 per cent, it seems the Premier League trophy will surely be decked out in light blue for a fourth consecutive season.
Everton given little hope of ending the season on a high
The numbers make for poor reading from an Everton perspective, with such a low probability of victory afforded to the Toffees.
There is some sense in the verdict, given Sean Dyche’s side have nothing to play for, having staved off relegation – doing so relatively comfortably in the end, with the Toffees going into the final day 14 points clear of 18th placed Luton Town despite being docked eight points for two breaches of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Arsenal, meanwhile, will be as motivated as any side can be, given they have the chance to claim a first Premier League title in 20 years – since their famous ‘Invincibles’ season of 2003/04 – if they can beat Everton and City do not win against West Ham.

However, Dyche and his side will hope that the nerves and pressure of the occasion affect the Gunners negatively and will aim to profit from any uncharacteristic mistakes to cause an upset and make a mockery of the numbers that predicted their demise.
