Everton want to sign Ramon Sosa as club stance emerges on summer transfer

Everton want to sign Talleres winger Ramon Sosa this summer in a deal worth £15.7m, with the club open to a sale after Copa America according to Roberto Rojas.

Writing on his personal X account (16 May), the Paraguayan journalist reports that the Argentine club are open to selling the 24-year-old for the right price.

Everton have already watched the Paraguay international in person, as have Newcastle, while Chelsea and Manchester City’s owners are also looking at a potential deal for the summer window.

“Talleres’ president has said that the 24-year-old can leave for the right price this summer for $20m (£15.7m),” he wrote.

“Among clubs interested include Everton and Newcastle who have seen Sosa play in person. Chelsea in the mix and BlueCo owned Strasbourg too.”

He then added a further update (17 May), confirming that City Football Group are interested in a deal for the Paraguayan, with Talleres willing to sell after the Copa America.

Everton set for a busy summer transfer window

It’s going to be a busy summer window at Goodison Park, with Sean Dyche knowing the squad needs strengthening but the Toffees battling with financial difficulties.

A major sale is expected before June 30th with Jarrad Branthwaite linked to Manchester United and Amadou Onana linked with Bayern Munich and Barcelona in particular.

But with the money that comes in the boss will need to find alternative options to bolster the squad, while it’s also been announced already that Arnaut Danjuma will leave at the end of his loan deal.

Jack Harrison’s future is also up in the air currently, meaning attacking reinforcements are undoubtedly near the top of the priority list.

That could see Sosa come in, although £15.7m for a player with no experience of playing in Europe would be a major gamble and is something that must be seriously considered before signing off on a deal.

In other Everton news, the club are set for a “significant windfall” should an ex-academy star make a transfer this summer.
