Sami Mokbel shares if Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite will make England squad for Euro 2024
Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite is expected to be included in Gareth Southgate’s provisional England squad ahead of Euro 2024, according to Sami Mokbel.
The Daily Mail journalist reported via X [21 May] that the 21-year-old defender, who was involved in the Three Lions’ last set of friendly fixtures, is expected to be part of Southgate’s plans ahead of the summer tournament.
The England manager is set to name his provisional squad at 2 pm, and Branthwaite is set to be included to help Southgate’s current defensive issues in the squad.
It is understood that Ajax midfielder Jordan Henderson is set to miss out while Chelsea’s Levi Colwill will be selected alongside the Toffees centre-half.

Following an incredible season at Goodison Park, the defender would have had every right to feel disappointed should Southgate have left him out of the provisional squad.
Considering John Stones and Harry Maguire’s injury issues, England will need to be wary about the number of centre-backs they take to Germany, which could be good news for Branthwaite.
With only Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool conceding fewer goals than Sean Dyche’s men this season, the youngster has deserved his spot in the national team and will be hoping to go one step further after the last international break.
Branthwaite was involved in March as England faced Brazil and Belgium but was one of the only players not to make it off the bench, with Southgate not prepared to reward him with his debut.
Jordan Pickford will also likely keep his spot in between the sticks for the Three Lions, meaning they would already have a strong bond in defence if Branthwaite were called upon.
