Sources share if Standard Liege sale will help 777 Partners get Everton takeover over the line

Any funds raised from 777 Partners sale of Standard Liege will not be “sufficient” to get their Everton takeover over the line, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The outlet reported on its website on Thursday (23 May) that sources have claimed that it is highly unlikely the Miami-based investment firm is attempting to conclude the sale of the club to help their acquisition of the Toffees.

Given 777 Partners’ other financial issues, it appears more likely that the money will be used elsewhere, particularly as the firm is struggling to attract other avenues of financing at this moment in time.

All this news has emerged following reports in Belgium that prospective new Everton owners 777 Partners have begun the process to sell Belgian club Standard Liege [Lavenier, 22 May].

Will 777 Partners complete their takeover of Everton at Goodison Park?

While Sean Dyche and his side have calmly and professionally gone about their business off of the pitch this season, chaos has continued above them at Goodison Park as the ownership issues continue to remain unsolved.

It seems to be clear to most people who understand 777 Partners’ situation that they are not at all cut out to take over the Toffees and run them in a fit and proper way, but for whatever reason, the deal has not yet been halted.

Ex-Everton owner Farhad Moshiri

Farhad Moshiri has granted the Miami-based firm an extension to complete their takeover but even with the funds that could potentially be raised from the sale of Standard, it doesn’t seem likely they will be able to foot the bill needed at Goodison.

Hopefully, Moshiri will finally sit up and take note to find an alternative buyer who is ready to help the Toffees kick on in a positive manner. 777 are not fit for purpose and never have been and it is time the Everton owner realised that.
