Everton to sell three ‘major’ players to avoid fresh points deduction at Goodison Park
Bryan King believes Everton will need to sell “three major players” to avoid further points deductions at Goodison Park.
The ex-Everton scout claims the club have no other choice but to let some big-name stars go.
It comes after Joe Thomas reported via the Liverpool Echo (22 May) that the Toffees could yet face two further points deductions.
A debate is yet to play out over how the club accounted for millions in interest which it claims were from loans used for the development of Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium.
If Everton lose this debate, it would increase the amount they need to raise to avoid breaching the three-year PSR threshold for a third time.
This could see them deducted more points as their previous breach would be higher than initially thought, while future compliance would also become more difficult.
And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes there is only one way out of this situation.
“This is very worrying for the club, especially for the supporters,” King said.
“They’ve been superb throughout all of this, but unfortunately their support won’t fix Everton’s financial issues.
“If they’re at risk of further points deductions then it only indicates one thing and that is that at least three major players will need to be sold.”
Everton must raise money quickly at Goodison Park
Unfortunately for the Toffees, they’re in desperate need of cash.
What that likely means is the sale of some high-profile stars.
Luckily for the club, they have some players who could help them raise some serious cash.

While they might be desperate to keep hold of the likes of Jarrad Branthwaite, Amadou Onana and Jordan Pickford, it looks as if they don’t have much say in the matter.
In other Everton news, one player at the club could miss the 2024 UEFA European Championship amid fresh injury fears.
