Everton subject to interest from the Middle East amid Alan Myers takeover reveal

Bryan King claims a takeover at Everton is of interest among parties in the Middle East.

The ex-Everton scout believes there is enough money in the region for someone to step forward and complete a takeover at Goodison Park.

It comes after Sky Sports news editor Alan Myers revealed via X (24 May) that there is the possibility of an entity from the Middle East emerging as a candidate to purchase the club.

And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – has doubled down on those claims.

“It is happened with Newcastle United, so why can’t it happen with Everton?” King said.

“There seems to be a lot of money available in Saudi Arabia for sporting projects, we’ve seen that with boxing and other sports.

“There are certainly people out there who would like to invest, it is just about finding them and nailing them down.”

Everton supporters will have mixed feelings about interest from the Middle East

It is hard to predict exactly how Everton fans would feel about interest in the club from the Middle East.

The Toffees are in desperate need of a cash injection at Goodison Park.

Having seen the way Newcastle United’s finances were boosted thanks to a Middle-Eastern-led takeover, it would be hard for the club to refuse such interest.

However, due to the controversies that surround such a takeover, as also seen with the Magpies, it could lead to wide-scale backlash from supporters at Goodison Park.

In other Everton news, the club have been urged to slash their asking price for Jarrad Branthwaite amid an £80million Manchester United update.
