Jarrad Branthwaite fee to be slashed at Everton as England snub mooted
Bryan King claims Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite is unlikely to start for England at the 2024 UEFA European Championship.
The ex-Goodison scout believes the centre-back’s value could decrease if he doesn’t feature regularly in Germany this summer.
Branthwaite has been widely linked with a move away from Goodison Park and was recently named by Gareth Southgate in the England provisional squad.
And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – feels the value of the defender depends largely on the upcoming Euros.
“I can’t see Branthwaite starting at the Euros for England,” King said.
“If he were to start, then interest around him would understandably increase, but I can’t see that happening.
“And unfortunately, that is going to impact the kind of fee which Everton can fetch for Branthwaite.”
Everton will be hopeful of Jarrad Branthwaite shining for England at the Euros
The Toffees will hope that Branthwaite is selected regularly by Southgate.
If he performs well at the Euros, then the club only stands to benefit from this.
Should they keep hold of Branthwaite, the experience in Germany is likely to improve him as a player.
And if they are forced to sell him, they will be able to charge a higher fee.

However, should he struggle for minutes at the tournament, that could cause a big problem at Goodison Park.
