Everton to complete ‘significant’ transfer once Goodison Park takeover is finished
Bryan King believes Everton are in no position to sign players amid reported interest in Arthur Melo.
The ex-Everton scout claims that the club will need to resolve any takeover issues before entering the transfer market.
It comes after Gazzetta Dello Sport reported in its print edition (page 13, 25 May) that the Toffees have enquired over the availability of Juventus midfielder Arthur.
But King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – doesn’t feel that a move would be possible.
“I don’t think the club can look at a deal for Arthur until the takeover is sorted out,” King said.
“Any potential moves are hypothetical at the moment.
“Until their finances are sorted, they can’t make any significant moves in the transfer market.”
Everton might struggle to afford signings at Goodison Park this summer
Outgoings will likely be the main focus at Goodison Park.
With the amount of financial problems the club find themselves in, bringing in any high-profile players wouldn’t be wise.
And when it comes to Arthur, the risk would be especially unwise.

The Brazillian struggled to make an impact in the Premier League previously while on loan with the Toffees’ fiercest rivals, Liverpool.
For now, it looks like any potential move will have to wait.
