Everton transfer news as Andre Gomes medical claim emerges amid recent injury
Everton midfielder Andre Gomes should not face any major issues clearing his medical despite his recent facial injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that as long as the problem is not threatening his vision, he should not have any problem signing for a new club this summer.
This comes after the Toffees confirmed on 17 May that the 30-year-old will leave once his deal runs out in June 2024.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Gomes:
“As long as the facial injury heals well and isn’t threatening to his vision, then it shouldn’t impact him too much.
“The bigger issue is his very limited game time last season which very likely impacted his fitness and match readiness.
“Depending on that fitness, it may suit him well to play in a less intense league. I do not see any reason for that affecting him clearing a medical this summer.“
Parting ways with Andre Gomes is the right move for Everton
The club’s decision to part ways with Gomes could be seen as a strategic move to refresh the squad and reduce the wage bill.
Given his age and recent performance levels, it might have been the right time to allow younger or more effective players to take his place in the team.
This move could also provide an opportunity for the Toffees to invest in new talent that better aligns with their long-term goals and playing style.

By making this decision, the club demonstrate a commitment to improving their squad and maintaining a competitive edge in the Premier League.
