John Textor Everton takeover chances emerge as 777 Partners deadline passes
A deal for John Textor to takeover Everton this summer is regarded as “impossible”, according to The Telegraph.
777 Partners agreed a deal with Farhad Moshiri back in September but have now missed their final May 31 deadline to complete the deal, and the Toffees will look at alternative options for investment.
Textor has confirmed publicly that he wants to buy the club [The Athletic, 24 May], but he will have to sell his 45% stake in Crystal Palace first and that makes any deal being completed this summer “impossible”.
More bad news for Everton fans as takeover saga continues
Most fans have known for a while now that the deal 777 Partners agreed with Moshiri was highly unlikely to be finalised because of all their issues financially.
But until the deadline for the deal was done, Moshiri was unable to speak to anyone else about a takeover due to the contract that was in place.
Now he is free to speak to whoever he wants, and while Textor has been open about his intentions it’s clear that he has probably jumped the gun in this instance and may have got carried away.

Premier League rules state that until he has sold his stake in Crystal Palace he can’t own another Premier League club, and that means Everton must continue to wait for their saviour.
There are hopefully going to be other parties interested who will come forward in the coming weeks to make something happen, but if Everton are to get a new owner this summer it won’t be Textor.
