Everton transfer update for Leeds United star Jack Harrison emerges
Everton are “making good progress” in their bid to re-sign Leeds winger Jack Harrison on loan for the 2024/25 season, according to Harry Watkinson.
Writing on his personal X account (3 June), the TEAMtalk journalist reports that the 26-year-old has a clause in his Elland Road contract that will allow him to leave on loan once again after they failed to get promoted.
Everton took advantage of that clause last summer to sign him initially and after good performances, Sean Dyche wants to bring him back to keep the squad strong.
Everton must be sensible in summer transfer window
The transfer window at Goodison Park is expected to be busy, but there are big plans that need to be made and it will be difficult for Everton to have a stronger squad than they did.
Amadou Onana seems most likely to leave the club but Jarrad Branthwaite, Jordan Pickford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are also major targets for other Premier League clubs in this window.
But instead of spending money when it’s low, the club are being smart by taking advantage of a clause once again to ensure the squad doesn’t get any weaker by losing a key player.
Harrison struggled for goals and assists for much of the campaign, but it’s clear that he understands the way the manager wants to set up the team and he provides great balance to the side.
Another loan deal would be perfect as it would mean Everton’s financial situation doesn’t get affected too much, and it would be shrewd business for the Toffees.
