Administration now option after Everton takeover collapse at Goodison Park

Dan Plumley believes there are only three realistic scenarios for Everton in their takeover push after 777 Partners’ bid for the club officially died.

The Miami-based investment firm missed their 31 May deadline to complete a deal for the club, with the Toffees now looking at alternative investment opportunities as Farhad Moshiri looks to move on.

When asked about what comes next for the club after the 777 saga finally came to an end, football finance expert Plumley believes there are only three situations that could occur now.

“To me, outside looking in, there are only three realistic scenarios,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“One is a new buyer, so somebody else steps in and looks to put a deal on the table for the club. The other is administration.

“The third one is the main creditors take control of the club in the interim, and that would be MSP. They’d be heavily involved in that considering the money they’re owed. So they’re the only three viable scenarios and I guess from a fan point of view the one that you want is a takeover being sorted out.

“But that would mean a completely new party now or maybe one that’s been involved before coming back to the table. I can only see those three scenarios as the next three realistic options.”

Everton takeover saga may lead to administration

There have been reports that there are several interested parties ready to step up if the 777 Partners deal collapsed, and now they have been given the opportunity to prove it.

777 were never going to be the right people to step in and take control of the club considering their issues financially in other avenues.

But the club are adamant that administration is not a genuine option which rules out one potential situation that Plumley mentioned, and MSP Sports Capital and Moshiri being the ones to takeover for a while as they look to find another buyer.

There is also John Textor who can step up but a deal is said to be “impossible” this summer while he still part-owns Crystal Palace, so fans are once again going to be forced to wait and see without any sort of clarity.
