Everton takeover latest as 777 Partners still in running to strike Farhad Moshiri deal

There is still a belief around 777 Partners that they remain in contention to complete a takeover of Everton, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The outlet reported on its website on Tuesday (4 June) that they understand the Miami-based investment firm believes they could still be a candidate to succeed Farhad Moshiri at Goodison Park.

777’s confidence, partnered with Moshiri’s insistence to continue talks with the prospective owners for as long as he did means that the American company could still have a major impact on how things pan out in the future.

Will 777 Partners still complete their Everton takeover at Goodison Park?

Just when Everton supporters would have begun to forget about 777 Partners, they have shown up once again. No matter what happens to this firm, it appears that they always remain confident that they could acquire the Toffees.

Everton’s statement after the deadline passed for the American company to complete their takeover never completely shut the door to them, which may well suggest that the links between the two haven’t been completely ended.

However, it does seem unlikely that 777 would even be able to get this deal over the line if Moshiri were to open takeover talks with them once again as they would still need approval from the Premier League and would have to apply for fresh permission from the financial conduct authority.

Given the current financial issues being faced across a variety of the firm’s assets at this moment in time, it would be unlikely that the FCA would be quite as quick as they were previously to allow 777 to move ahead with their plans.

Hopefully, their confidence has been completely misplaced and their hopes of becoming owners at Goodison Park will be completely dashed sooner rather than later.
