Everton ‘sure’ to set takeover criteria as Vatche Manoukian update emerges at Goodison Park
Alan Myers has admitted he is “sure” Everton are setting the criteria and timeframe for their sale after a Vatche Manoukian update emerged at Goodison Park.
Reports emerged that Toffees owner Farhad Moshiri had received a third firm offer to take over the football club worth £400million from a group of international investors fronted by Manoukian [The Athletic, 8 June].
With a number of parties now understood to be interested in acquiring the Toffees, it doesn’t appear that the club have set clear conditions for a deal to be completed, but Sky Sports journalist Myers suggests otherwise.
Writing on X on Sunday (9 June) a fan asked: “How long can this go on for? Surely we need to set the criteria/conditions of sale and a timeframe for bidders to submit and then get on with it.”
Myers quickly replied: “I’m sure that’s happening.”
What is going on with the Everton takeover at Goodison Park under Farhad Moshiri?
Everton supporters will just be desperate to see someone take over the club from Farhad Moshiri sooner rather than later after a miserable few years at Goodison Park, but the wheels are already in motion and a brighter future is ahead.
The Blues have avoided the potential car crash that could have been operating under the ownership of 777 Partners but they will now take their time to make sure that they can find the perfect suitors to succeed Moshiri.
While the timescales and conditions needed for a deal to be completed may not have been made clear to the public, it is more than likely that those looking to invest already know exactly what is required to take over the reins at Goodison.
Hopefully, some more clarity will emerge from the club sooner rather than later. Until then, fans are going to have to make do with the few and far-between updates from journalists to keep across of what is happening.
