John Textor claim emerges as Everton takeover talks break down at Goodison Park
Bryan King claims he was unsure John Textor ever had the required funds to complete a takeover at Everton.
The ex-Goodison scout never considered the Crystal Palace shareholder to be a serious option.
It comes after a report in the Telegraph (10 June) shared that Textor has withdrawn his takeover bid after Farhad Moshiri declined to sign a terms sheet.
Dealmakers believe Textor had met Moshiri’s requirements but King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – isn’t so sure.
“I think this is mainly due to the interest from other parties,” King said.
“The kind of money that was needed, I was never sure Textor had that money.
“If he was going to make a big strong move, he would have needed to have his Palace shares sold first.
“There must be something in the background which has stopped Moshiri from entertaining a deal with Textor.”
Farhad Moshiri has options to choose from in the Everton takeover race
At one point, Moshiri looked to be the Toffees’ knight in shining armour.
Fast forward a few weeks later and most supporters won’t be too fussed to see the American’s bid withdrawn.

There are plenty of options on the table for Moshiri, and that probably played a part in talks with Textor breaking down.
It looks as if there is a choice to be made at Goodison Park and supporters will hope for a positive one.
