Blackburn star Sammie Szmodics sends message as Everton terms are officially agreed
Blackburn goal machine Sammie Szmodics has sent a message in response to Everton announcing that Seamus Coleman had extended his stay at Goodison Park.
The Toffees announced via Instagram on Friday (14 June) that the right-back has signed a one-year contract extension which will see him play his 16th season at Goodison Park.
Responding to a video of Coleman addressing Everton supporters, Szmodics commented two emojis which showed his support for the announcement.
Alan Nixon reported previously via his Patreon (28 April) that the Toffees hold an interest in Szmodics, who is valued between £15-20million by Blackburn Rovers.
Everton supporters will be excited by Sammie Szmodics’ message
This will surely have piqued the interest of supporters at Goodison Park.
Szmodics is a long-standing target for the Toffees and would be a very exciting signing for the club.
The 28-year-old finished as the top scorer in the Championship last season and has demonstrated that he deserves an opportunity to play in the Premier League.
If Szmodics was to join Everton, Sean Dyche could have a solution to some of his goalscoring struggles from last season.
And Coleman’s contract extension could go a long way in helping Dyche lure the striker to Goodison Park.
The Republic of Ireland international will be a big admirer of Coleman and might fancy the opportunity to play with such an iconic Irish player in the Premier League.

Whether or not Everton can afford him remains to be seen.
However, there will be plenty of clubs keeping an eye on Szmodics and the Toffees will be keen to utilise any advantage they can find.
In other Everton news, Sean Dyche could be offered a new contract at Goodison Park.
