Dan Friedkin to invest more than half-a-billion pounds as Everton takeover update shared

Dan Friedkin is set to invest £548million after having an Everton takeover offer accepted by Farhad Moshiri, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Italian source reported [15 June] that £337m of that investment represents the debt amassed by the Toffees as the current Roma owner looks to add the Merseyside club to his collection.

As per Sky Sports News [14 June], Moshiri has now accepted an offer from Friedkin, who is worth an estimated £4.8billion, and is expected to be granted exclusivity this weekend.

It is understood that the bid being an all-equity offer turned the current Toffees owner’s head in the direction of the American, who has jumped ahead of several other candidates [The Telegraph].

Everton takeover saga takes positive turn thanks to Dan Friedkin

Considering Friedkin’s previous experiences with Roma, who have competed in Serie A and the Champions League, fans will be buzzing about the recent news.

The ongoing saga surrounding the club’s takeover has caused many fans huge worry and sadness, with the current financial situation only making things worse.

The Toffees were docked a total of eight points throughout the 2023/24 campaign, having breached PSR laws due to how much money had been lost by the club.

Friedkin’s reported investment will be a huge boost for the club, especially when it comes to finishing off the building of Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium and the funding needed for Sean Dyche’s squad.

The likes of Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana have been linked with moves away in order for the club to raise funds this summer, though the influx of cash could see Everton take control of their transfers.
