Everton desperate to make Amadou Onana sale this summer as club hope shared

Everton are desperate to sell midfielder Amadou Onana this summer, according to Alan Nixon.

The journalist wrote via X on Sunday (16 June) that the Toffees are hopeful of the Belgium international performing well at the 2024 UEFA European Championship.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo (14 June), Everton want at least £50million for the 22-year-old.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have enquired about his availability. Meanwhile, The Times reports (14 June) that Villa and PSG are also interested in Onana.

Will Everton midfielder Amadou Onana leave Goodison Park this summer?

Nixon has revealed that Everton are keen to sell Onana this summer.

And luckily for the Tofees, there is plenty of interest in their player. As a result, this should make a sale easier as the club look to balance the books at Goodison Park.

Onana is no doubt a talented player and would represent a loss for Sean Dyche.

However, due to the financial struggles at the club, it seems inevitable that players will need to be sold this summer.

And of their most valuable assets, Onana is likely the player supporters most wouldn’t mind losing.

Jarrad Branthwaite and Jordan Pickford are both arguably more important to the club than Onana, especially considering the lack of other options in their positions.

All eyes will therefore now be on the Euros and how well Onana performs.

If the midfielder puts in some big performances with Belgium, there is every chance he could be sold for £50million.

In other Everton news, Jarrad Branthwaite has been slammed after his Manchester United decision.
