Marseille respond as Everton submit bid to sign Iliman Ndiaye, final decision to be made

Marseille have refused a first offer for Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, according to Massilia Zone.

As reported by the French news outlet via X (20 June), the player has given his okay to join Everton.

The Toffees are very interested although an agreement has not yet been reached on personal terms.

Ex-Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, who recently took over at Marseille, will make the final decision on whether or not the club keep Ndiaye.

Everton beginning to make moves amid interest in Illiman Ndiaye

It looks as if supporters at Goodison Park are finally starting to get their club back.

After a miserable few years, the past couple of days have provided plenty of optimism for next season and beyond.

As reported by Sky Sports News via X (20 June), Farhad Moshiri and Dan Friedkin have entered into an exclusivity agreement as the paperwork is finalised for the Friedkin Group to complete a takeover.

This is a huge development for the club as it will allow the Toffees to wipe out some debts and begin to start rebuilding.

And it looks as if the impact of this imminent takeover is already being felt in the transfer market.

Suddenly, the club are looking to bring players to Goodison Park rather than sell them.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X (20 June), Sean Dyche’s side have agreed a £9million fee with Aston Villa for Tim Iroegbunam.

And if the club could also bring in Ndiaye, their midfield options would look much more positive.

Back when the Senegal international was playing his football with Sheffield United, his teammate Tommy Doyle described him as an “unbelievable player” (via BBC Sport, 3 March 2023).

With previous experience of English football and still only 24 years old, Ndiaye would be a serious coup for the club.

In other Everton news, the club have made an offer to sign a Leicester City midfielder.
