Daniel Jebbison wowed by ‘amazing’ Everton transfer news amid Sheffield United exit talk

Sheffield United striker Daniel Jebbison has reacted to the news on Saturday that Tim Iroegbunam has joined Everton.

Iroegbunam, 20, announced via his personal Instagram account that he’s left Aston Villa to sign for the Toffees with an image of him signing his Goodison Park contract.

Canadian striker Jebbison, 20, has been linked with a move to Everton this summer [HITC] and he replied to the midfielder’s post by simply saying: “Amazing.”

HITC reported on 31 May that Everton have made an approach to sign Jebbison, whose contract at Sheffield United is due to expire at the end of June.

Will Everton sign Jebbison in cut-price summer transfer?

If Everton sign Jebbison, it’s unlikely to be a deal that will set fans’ tongues wagging.

The Ontario-born centre-forward has only ever played 35 times for the Blades’ senior side, with only one of those appearances coming last season due to an issue with a blood clot.

The former Buton loanee’s solitary appearance came on the final day of the season when he played the final 20 minutes of a 3-0 defeat to Tottenham at Bramall Lane.

Despite not really making any impact in South Yorkshire, HITC claim that Everton, Leeds, Ipswich and Leicester are keen on him, as well as clubs from abroad like Borussia Dortmund and Juventus.

It says a lot about Jebbison that these kinds of clubs are being linked with him on what could be a very cheap transfer due to his contract situation in Sheffield.

Everton might have to pay a compensation fee to Sheffield United to sign Jebbison because he’s been in their youth set-up since 2018 after coming over from semi-pro Canadian side ANB Football.

But any fee is likely to be very small so this is one that the Blues could pull off if Jebbison sees a clear route into Sean Dyche’s first team.

In other Everton news, the Toffees have now issued contact with their Premier League rivals to sign a midfielder who recently won the Champions League.
