Roma fans won’t like Dan Freidkin signing at Everton as speculation heats up

Dan Bardell believes Everton could utilise their link with Roma through potential new owner Dan Friedkin to sign Edoardo Bove this summer.

HITC journalist Graeme Bailey has reported (19 June) that the Toffees have moved ahead of Premier League rivals in the race to sign Bove from the Serie A giants.

A deal for the 22-year-old could be helped by the progress of a potential takeover from Friedkin who owns Roma and is set to undergo directors’ and owners’ tests [The Telegraph].

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes the deal is positive and Bove could become a replacement option for Amadou Onana who has been linked with moves away.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Bardell said: “Things like that (owned clubs selling between each other) might become more prominent for Everton with the way finances are in football now.

Potentially being tied to Roma is certainly not going to harm a deal like Edordo Bove if Dan Friedkin is to take over this summer.

I think it says a lot that Roma fans would be unhappy if they lost him because he’s a highly-rated young player.

He’s played a lot of football already and has good pedigree so he would be a good signing for Everton.

Onana’s linked away and they know he could be set for pastures new so it looks as if there’s a succession plan in place.

Everton Dan Friedkin link to help sign Edoardo Bove from Roma

The Toffees are moving ever closer to finally having new owners after many years of uncertainty at Goodison Park.

Farhad Moshiri has done his utmost to move the club on to the right people and appears to have found a party that he trusts.

Friedkin already owns Roma so has a positive experience in football and understands the ins and outs of being an owner.

With Everton set to become part of a multi-club model, they could take advantage of that by signing Bove this summer in a positive piece of business.

Onana has been frequently linked away from the club and looks set to be a makeweight for Everton’s PSR problems before 30 June.

Edoardo Bove

At 22, Bove certainly has a bright future ahead of him and could prove to be a useful addition to the Toffees’ squad for many years to come.

He may not be as good as the Belgian is now but he certainly could hit that level under Sean Dyche moving forward.
