Everton transfer news as contact update shared on Beto
Everton have not yet had any contact from Fenerbahce in regard to a transfer for Beto this summer, according to the Liverpool ECHO.
The outlet reported via its online edition (26 June) that no contact has yet been made despite prior reports stating that Fener boss Jose Mourinho had approved the transfer for the striker.
However, a move hasn’t been completely ruled out as of yet so there could still be some movement in that regard.
Why Everton should let Beto leave this summer
After only joining the club from Udinese last August, you’d expect the Toffees to want to keep their striker around for at least another season.
However, while the Portugal international showed glimpses of his talent but struggled for consistent form during his maiden campaign at Goodison Park.
The former Udinese man only managed to score three Premier League goals last season despite playing in 30 games and a lack of goals across the board was a serious concern for Everton last term.

Which is why it is little surprise that Everton have been linked with several strikers already throughout the first weeks of the transfer window
Sean Dyche has already welcomed Jack Harrison back to the club [Fabrizio Romano, 21 June] on another season-long loan in hopes of increasing the strength of his attack but he and Everton’s other wide options will need better firepower to feed.
Tammy Abraham has been discussed as a potential target this summer [Daily Mail, 14 June] and, thanks to the recent talk of Dominic Calvert-Lewin also being on his way out, change is clearly afoot at Goodison Park this summer.
In other Everton news, the Toffees’ stance on a deal for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Victor Lindelof has been shared.
