Jarrad Branthwaite exit update emerges as Everton survive PSR period unscathed

Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite’s summer move to Manchester United is now less likely to happen, according to talkSPORT.

The outlet reported on its website on Monday (1 July) that now that the Toffees have successfully survived the Premier League’s profit and sustainability period unscathed, they are under less pressure to sell their stars.

This development means that the Blues are unlikely to drop their asking price for the 22-year-old this summer, making a move to Old Trafford less and less likely between now and the end of the transfer window.

United have already had an opening £35million bid rejected by Everton for the defender’s services this summer having agreed to personal terms.

Will Everton sell Jarrad Branthwaite to Manchester United in summer transfer window?

It is great to hear that the Toffees have managed to come through the Premier League’s profit and sustainability deadline unscathed as financial issues have caused them so many problems in the last few years.

Last year, Sean Dyche’s side were hit by two separate point deductions after they sold several first-team players and shed the wage bill in a desperate attempt to balance the books and they couldn’t afford to do that again.

Somehow they have managed to not only stay within the league’s spending limits but also keep the likes of Branthwaite, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jordan Pickford at Goodison Park despite interest from some huge clubs.

Hopefully, this report is correct and Branthwaite’s move to Old Trafford is becoming less and less likely as it would be a massive boost to the Toffees ahead of the start of the Premier League season.

Dyche’s success last year was built on defensive stability offered by the England international and James Tarkowski and it would have been a blow to lose that before a ball had even been kicked in the league this term.
