Everton Stadium hits seating milestone in latest Bramley-Moore Dock update

The new Everton Stadium on Bramley-Moore Dock now has over 43,000 seats installed, according to the club’s director of new stadium development.

Speaking to Insider Media at the Liverpool Waterfront Breakfast conference on 2 July, Alix Waldron said that the club was continuing to hit new milestones as the building process edges closer to completion.

Waldron added that work on both the pitch and dugout seating is well underway, with the Toffees hoping their new home can be a ‘365 destination’ which can be used for much more than just football matches.

She said: “We’ve hit some major milestones recently. We commenced work on the pitch last month, and installed over 43,000 seats as of last week.

“We’ve also put in the dugout seating; so it’s really coming to life in terms of looking and feeling like a football stadium.

“Football is our bread and butter but we’ve got other events we can hold when it’s not a match day, whether it’s other sporting events, stadium tours, private hire or concerts.”

New era at Everton finally starting to take shape this summer

Slated to open and be moved into by the summer of 2025, the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium will mark the start of a new dawn for the club, as they leave long-time home Goodison Park after 133 years [Instagram, 4 June].

Moving to Liverpool’s waterfront will open up new commercial opportunities for the club, with a 52,888 capacity allowing the Toffees to collect matchday revenues akin to Premier League’s most monied clubs [Liverpool Echo, 15 June].

Furthermore, the impending takeover of Dan Friedkin, a billionaire with a proven track record at Roma, could prove to be another crucial cog in returning the Blues into the Premier League’s higher echelons [Gazzetta dello Sport, 15 June].

Friedkin, having entered into an inclusivity period with Farhad Moshiri, is expected to steer away from the financial perils that have engulfed the club in recent seasons, and the new stadium will play a part in this [the i, 15 June].

As the Toffees wave goodbye to Goodison Park, Friedkin and the ownership structure he sets in place will be keen to ensure that once Everton are settled into their new home, they will be in a much better position to help the club fight at the top, rather than the bottom, of the Premier League once more.
