Jaden Philogene to decide future imminently as Everton chase Hull City star transfer
Jaden Philogene’s future will not become a saga this summer amid interest from Everton and multiple other clubs, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist reported on his Playback transfer update show on 3 July that the Hull City winger will make is decision “really soon” and the transfer race between the Toffees, other Premier League clubs, and La Liga giants Barcelona will not drag on towards the end of the month.
The Catalan side have made a loan-to-buy offer for the 22-year-old, while Crystal Palace and newly-promoted Ipswich also want him.
According to the Daily Mail on 28 June Everton are willing to offer £16million for the former Aston Villa man.
Romano said (23m 10s): “What I can tell you is get ready because the player will decide his future soon. This is not going to be a saga like end of July, August, all this kind of stuff, Philogene will decide soon and soon we will know the situation of the player.
“Many clubs are showing interest. The player will make his decision really soon.”
Ipswich attempt to beat Everton to former Aston Villa man
It will be a relief for the Philogene interest to not develop into a saga, and although it will be a disappointment should the Toffees miss out it will at least allow them to close the door on the pursuit and move on.
With the return of Jack Harrison on loan from Leeds United and the permanent signing of Iliman Ndiaye from Marseille the Everton attack is looking stronger.
At the same time that arguably only takes Sean Dyche’s squad back towards where they were a year ago before they were obliged to sell both Alex Iwobi and Demarai Gray.
So with the situation looking more positive at Goodison Park this summer from a financial perspective it would be a boost to land Philogene after a stand-out campaign in the Championship.
Cost cutting measures behind the scenes and positive steps towards a Dan Friedkin takeover have helped lift the dark clouds around the club, but Lewis Dobbin was still sold to help avoid profit and sustainability pressures before 30 June.

That took a talented wide option to Aston Villa and although Tim Iroegbunam came the other way it would address the situation more directly to add another exciting winger who used to call Villa Park home.
