£18m update emerges as Everton reach agreement for Jaden Philogene transfer

Everton and Ipswich Town have both reached an £18million agreement in principle with Hull City for Jaden Philogene, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster issued an update via their transfer centre on 10 July at 14:11 claiming that Aston Villa have also matched the agreements of the two clubs.

A clause exists in the 22-year-old’s contract that allows Villa to match bids from any other team.

Everton need to detail their project to sign Jaden Philogene

The decision now rests with Philogene himself, making it crucial for Sean Dyche and the club’s Director of Football Kevin Thelwell to articulate their vision for the club’s future to him.

The Toffees need to convince the 22-year-old that they can provide him with the platform and opportunities he desires.

They must outline their plans for the team, the role the Englishman would play and how they intend to develop and integrate him into the squad.

By detailing their project, Everton can demonstrate their commitment to the attacker’s development and their ambition to compete at a high level.

This transparency and clarity could be pivotal in persuading Philogene to choose Goodison Park over other destinations, despite the allure of Champions League football with Aston Villa.

Playing time will also be of utmost importance to him and he’s likelier to get more game time at Toffees than at Villa Park.
