Everton in transfer talks for top target Jesper Lindstrom with Napoli willing to sell
Everton are now in transfer talks with Napoli over a deal to sign Jesper Lindstrøm, Fabrizio Romano reports.
According to the Italian journalist via X late on 12 July the Serie A side are open to a sale if a strong proposal is made and the Toffees are on the case with negotiations underway.
The Danish international is said to be the “next top target” during the window at Goodison Park after a single season in Naples.
Lindstrøm made 22 appearances in Serie A last term but only started two of those games after arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt and subsequently missed out on a place at Euro 2024.
Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell want another new Everton attacker
The 24-year-old may have been a non-factor with the reigning Italian champions over the past year as he failed to score or assist once in 29 largely-substitute outings across all competitions.
But his impact in Germany previously makes it easy to see why Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell would be interested in adding him to the attacking options after a record of 14 goals and 14 assists across two seasons with Eintracht.
Iliman Ndiaye has already been brought in this summer and both fit a similar sort of versatile attacking profile where they can operate in various positions going forward.
With Jack Harrison returning from Leeds United on loan again after their failure to gain Premier League promotion it looks like there has been a clear focus from Everton to flesh out an area that was short on depth last season.

The Toffees also appear to have reacted quickly to the latest drama in the race to sign Hull City winger Jaden Philogene by looking to bring in an alternative target in case they miss out on the Englishman.
And with Dele Alli also close to returning to the club amid talks with Tottenham to revamp his payment terms [The Athletic, 12 July] Dyche might be set for a relative embarrassment of riches in attacking midfield areas this term.
In other Everton news, the Toffees look set to sell four first-team names to raise funds for the transfer window.
