Spotted: Dele Alli travels with Everton squad for pre-season clash v Sligo Rovers
Dele Alli has travelled with the Everton squad for their pre-season friendly clash with Sligo Rovers, Joe Thomas has shared.
Writing on his personal X account (15 July), the Liverpool Echo journalist shared footage of the out-of-contract midfielder boarding a plane with the rest of the squad including Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jack Harrison.
The Toffees have struck an agreement with Tottenham that means they don’t have to pay them a fee should they choose to re-sign him [Nizaar Kinsella, 13 July], with his contract at the club having expired last month.
Dele Alli to get fresh Everton chance?
It seemed like Alli and Everton were going to go their separate ways this summer after a horror two-and-a-half years with the club.
Poor form, injuries and personal issues have plagued his time on Merseyside and Dele hasn’t played for the club in over two years now.
But despite that, it seems that Sean Dyche is a huge fan of the former England international and wants him to be part of the squad going forward which is a huge compliment.
There’s still no official offer on the table and there is every chance that Dele Alli ends up playing elsewhere this season, but he’s clearly open to the idea of sticking around.
He’s going to get the chance to prove himself this summer on pre-season and if he can recapture the form of his Tottenham days, it would be a real coup.
In other Everton news, the club are set to make a bid for a brand new attacker in days according to Fabrizio Romano.
