Everton get new transfer boost after Amadou Onana developments before takeover

Dan Plumley has admitted that the impending sale of Amadou Onana to Aston Villa is a “big boost” for Everton.

The Toffees have agreed to a £50million deal for the Belgian international to leave Goodison Park, with his medical set for after a short holiday [Fabrizio Romano].

The football finance expert admitted that the fee won’t go straight to Everton, but it is still a significant amount as the club looks to get past its “horrible” recent past.

“It’s a big boost,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“Obviously, we know nowadays that’s not as simple as chucking £50million straight into the bank account, transfers don’t tend to happen like that.

Over the course of that deal, £50million is a significant amount for that player and ultimately, it’s good news for Everton who are finally looking to get this takeover done and get through this horrible phase to move on to the future.”

Everton finally agree Amadou Onana transfer

With the future of Jarrad Branthwaite potentially safe at Goodison Park after this, with a new contract mooted [Chris Beesley], there is no doubt that fans will welcome this sale.

Sean Dyche has already moved to bring in Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa, with other replacements potentially needed before the new season.

That is certainly something to watch, but for now, the club will be very happy with this amount.

In other Everton news, the club could help fund another side’s move for Mason Greenwood with this deal.
