Jackson Tchatchoua ready to pack his bags for Everton transfer after new update

Hellas Verona defender Jackson Tchatchoua is “ready to pack his bags” to leave with Everton interested in a deal, according to InterLive.

Writing on its website (16 July), the news outlet reports the 22-year-old Cameroon international is a target for the Toffees and Premier League rivals West Ham this summer.

And the defender is ready to move to the Premier League, with Verona holding out for a £6.7million fee to let him leave after just one season in Italy.

Everton to sign Jackson Tchatchoua?

The defence at Everton is an area of the pitch that Sean Dyche will be incredibly proud of after last season, but there is still more that can be done to improve it.

Ben Godfrey has been sold to Atalanta while Mason Holgate is likely to leave [The Athletic, 9 July] with the club adamant that Jarrad Branthwaite won’t be joining them amid interest from Manchester United.

Seamus Coleman and Ashley Young have both penned new contracts, but with both at the tail-end of their career, so there is room for a new option at full-back.

Tchatchoua is capable of playing on either side and even in a slightly more advanced role which could suit when the Toffees want to use wing-backs and would be a bargain signing at less than £7million.

Issa Kabore is also a target [AfricaFoot, 19 June], so it seems as though Dyche is casting his net wide for a new defender to come in and bolster the squad.

In other Everton news, Jarrad Branthwaite could be handed a new Goodison Park contract.
