Wilfried Gnonto to want Everton move amid ‘exciting’ £22m transfer update

Bryan King claims Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto will be keen to join Everton.

The ex-Goodison scout feels that the 20-year-old would be a positive signing for the club.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X (15 July), the Toffees have a genuine interest in Gnonto, with negotiations underway to understand the conditions of a deal.

According to Planet Sport (16 July), Everton believe they can sign the player for around £22million.

And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes the forward will be keen to move to the Premier League.

“I think Gnonto would be a good addition for the club,” King said.

“They need someone down that right-hand side because they don’t have much threat in that position.

“If Everton can pull this off it would be an exciting transfer. Gnonto won’t want to play in the Championship for another season, he’ll want to move to Everton for sure.”

Wilfried Gnonto to quit Leeds United and sign for Everton?

Gnonto has the potential to become a serious player.

It is worth remembering that the Italy international is still just 20 years old, and if he were to fulfil his potential at Goodison Park, it would be huge for Everton.

On his day he can cause plenty of problems to opposition defenders, with the Toffees currently lacking that exciting profile of player.

Gnonto looked to be on his way to the club last summer, and the Toffees won’t want a repeat of that transfer saga.

Therefore, they will likely be keen to get this deal wrapped up sooner rather than later.
