Dominic Calvert-Lewin transfer update at Everton as agent makes West Ham United offer
Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been offered to West Ham United by an agent, but the Irons have “declined” the offer, according to Sean Whetstone.
Whetstone reported via the West Ham Football X account on Friday (19 July) that the Toffees value the former England international at around £37million, while he demands a wage in the region of £130,000 a week.
Calvert-Lewin’s fitness record has also been a cause for concern in the past and while he managed to stay fit for the majority of last season, it played into the Irons’ decision to reject the agent’s offer.
The Irons are understood to be in the market for a new centre-forward this summer and the Toffees frontman was discussed behind the scenes at the London Stadium [Daily Mail, 16 July].
Will Dominic Calvert-Lewin exit Everton amid West Ham transfer speculation?
It seems to becoming increasingly apparent that Calvert-Lewin may not be an Everton player for much longer as those around him seem to be pushing the striker to depart Goodison Park this summer.
There is a contract offer on the table for the former England international, but it has yet to be signed and there has been little suggestion he is interested in putting pen to paper on extended terms.
The Toffees are running the risk of losing their main source of goals on a free transfer next season, but they will also only want to sell Calvert-Lewin if West Ham or any other Premier League rival match their asking price.
Julen Lopetegui’s side don’t appear to be interested in paying the nearly £40million fee and the 27-year-old’s wage demands will likely be too high for many other teams to consider making a move.
Hopefully, some sort of resolution can be discovered between now and the end of the transfer window as the last thing Everton will want to see is their main striker run down his contract.
