Everton surprise emerges amid £19m Jesper Lindstrøm development

Bryan King is surprised that the buy-option included in Jesper Lindstrøm’s loan move to Everton is as high as £19million.

The ex-Goodison scout feels as though the 24-year-old could be a useful addition at Goodison Park.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X (24 July), Everton have all but completed a deal to sign Lindstrøm on a season-long loan.

They will pay Napoli a loan fee of £2.1million and cover the player’s entire salary until June.

However, King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – is surprised by the £19million buy-option which has been included in the deal.

“Dyche’s main aim will be to bring in players of a good quality who can benefit the squad,” King said.

“I know of Lindstrøm, I haven’t seen much of him, but there were great expectations when he went to Italy. Personally, I thought it was the wrong move for him.

“I’m surprised the buy option is £19million for him. I’d say he is worth closer to the £12million mark. However, it is still a good addition for Dyche as the club cannot afford to be spending big money.”

Everton set to announce the arrival of Jesper Lindstrøm on loan from Napoli

If Romano is to be believed, all that is left now is for the Toffees to announce the arrival of Lindstrøm on loan.

It is another important move in the transfer window for the club as they look to add some quality forward options to Dyche’s squad ahead of next season.

Goalscoring was an issue at Goodison Park last year, and although Lindstrøm didn’t enjoy a positive debut season in Napoli, he will be hoping to rediscover his best form upon his arrival in the Premier League.
