Dan Friedkin to play key role in Tammy Abraham transfer despite Everton takeover collapse

Dan Friedkin could win back some fans at Everton after a takeover deal at Goodison Park collapsed earlier this month.

Bryan King exclusively told Goodison News on 7 July that the takeover hit a “stumbling block” due to the money that was owed to 777 Partners.

This has left everyone at Goodison Park in a bubble of uncertainty as Farhad Moshiri looks to find a new buyer to take over his role as owner of the Toffees.

Despite the ongoing takeover saga, Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell have continued their transfer plans without a hitch, adding centre-back Jake O’Brien to the squad.

Now, Friedkin has a chance to do some more good on Merseyside by helping the Toffees secure the signing of AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham.

Everton are one of the teams vying for the 26-year-old’s signature, with several agents circling, according to Corriere dello Sport [31 July], and Friedkin is set to remain with the club despite the takeover collapse.

Could Daniel Friedkin help Everton sign Tammy Abraham?

With the links between Roma and Everton now set in stone, Friedkin could certainly improve his status on Merseyside if he can help the Toffees acquire a new signing.

The former Chelsea star has experienced a mixed time in Serie A, having missed most of the 2023/24 campaign through injury, and looks to be ready for a new challenge.

Given the uncertainty around Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future at Goodison Park and Beto’s lack of quality on the pitch, Abraham could be a very important signing for Dyche this summer.

And, with Friedkin pulling out of the deal to become the new owner of the Toffees, helping persuade the striker into a Premier League return would go some way to clear his name at the club.

In other Everton news, Boulaye Dia is likely to seal a transfer as the Toffees work to bring in a new transfer.
