Everton new number 10 set to be announced as footage emerges
Everton will have a number 10 at Goodison Park this season and are set to make an announcement, according to the Liverpool ECHO.
Writing on their website (6 August), Joe Thomas reported that summer signing Illiman Ndiaye will likely become the number 10 for the Blues this season.
Thomas said Ndiaye was spotted sporting the shirt in social media footage shared this week by teammate Idrissa Gueye, in what looked like filming for advertising and line-up shots to be used by broadcasters.
The 24-year-old signed for the Blues in a £15m deal from Marseille earlier this summer, penning a five-year contract (BBC Sport).
Everton show faith in Illiman Ndiaye with the number 10 shirt
Everton are yet to announce their squad list but if the social media footage is anything to go by, the fans can look forward to welcoming Ndiaye as their new number 10.
Club icons such as Duncan Ferguson, Wayne Rooney, Barry Horne, and Duncan McKenzie have worn the shirt for the Toffees and even Mikel Arteta, Romelu Lukaku, and Anthony Gordon found success at Goodison Park wearing the shirt before they severed ties with the club.
The number has been available since Arnaut Danjuma returned to Villareal after an underwhelming loan spell last season and Dyche is demonstrating a show of faith in his new signing with the iconic number.

The dawn of the new Premier League season provides the supporters with an escape from their off-field woes (talkSPORT) and focus on finally performing at the level they are capable of this season.
Everton waited a long time to secure the signing of Ndiaye (Fabrizio Romano) and the Senegalese forward is ready to replicate his form for Sheffield United.
He accumulated 14 goals and 11 assists in his final season at the Blades but opted for a move to Marseille over playing Premier League football at Bramall Lane.
Dyche has recruited expertly this summer, Ndiaye was coming off the back of a poor debut season in France, and the Blues capitalised, now he has been handed the number 10 shirt and all the expectations that come with it but if he can replicate his Championship form in the top flight, the expectation will not feel as heavy.
In other Everton news, a Sean Dyche transfer priority has been shared.
