Everton in close Kalvin Phillips talks after new transfer developments
Everton are in talks with people close to Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The journalist has reported that the Toffees are well informed on the England international, who is expected to leave City again before the August 30 deadline.
Any potential loan or permanent move is not yet advanced at Goodison Park, with the story still said to be in its early stages.
Speaking to Give Me Sport, Romano said: “Everton have an interest in Kalvin Phillips, not only Everton, but Everton are well informed on the situation.
“They have already made some contact with people close to the player to be aware of the situation around Kalvin Phillips, I still expect him to leave Manchester City if they receive a good proposal.
“So that’s the idea. Everton have an interest, but still nothing advanced or close to being completed, because in this moment, it’s still early stages of the story.”
Everton to sign Kalvin Phillips?
This has been one of those links that refuses to disappear.
Talks are also said to have been held with Manchester City, so it looks good that Everton are in dialogue with all parties ahead of a potential move [TEAMtalk].
Money has already been spent on the likes of Jake O’Brien, Tim Iroegbunam and Iliman Ndiaye, which means it is likely to be a quiet end to the month at Finch Farm.
City are ready to sanction a loan move at this stage and Phillips has also snubbed a move overseas [The Times], something which bodes well for Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell.

After a dreadful few years at The Etihad Stadium, and a regretful loan move to West Ham, Dyche could be the man to reignite the career of Phillips, who must be desperate for that now.
With close talks held, hopefully some progress can be made in the coming days and the midfielder can get himself around the squad and not miss too many Premier League games.
