Everton transfer update emerges as new left-back arrival on the cards
Everton are more likely to bring in a new left-back before the transfer window closes, according to Alan Myers.
When asked about whether a new full-back was arriving at Goodison Park, the Sky Sports news editor claimed that a left-back was the likelier scenario.
Thus far, the Toffees have made a number of signings hoping to build on their performance from last season.
Everton undoubtedly need a new left-back
Vitaliy Mykolenko, while capable, needs competition to maintain performance levels and provide cover in case of injury or fatigue.
The absence of a reliable backup was evident when Mykolenko’s form dipped or when he was unavailable.
A new left-back could offer different tactical options, perhaps someone more offensively inclined or defensively robust, allowing Sean Dyche to adapt his strategies based on opponents.
With Ben Godfrey leaving, the Toffees are a player short on one who provides cover at left-back and that could be the reason why they’re looking at someone there.
Time is running out with the window shutting in the next two weeks so they’ve got to act quickly and get a new player over the line as possible.
They also have to ensure that they do not overpay as close to the end of the market, teams end up charging a lot more.
In other Everton news, a Toffees-linked player is now set to leave and an update has emerged on his medical.
