Barcelona to find definitive transfer solution for Everton-linked Vitor Roque in days

Barcelona will be looking to sell Vitor Roque for good in the coming days amid interest from Everton and other clubs, according to Sport.

The Catalonia-based newspaper published on page 5 [16 August] that Barca now view the project on young forward Roque as one which has not gone to plan, and the club are prioritising selling him in the current window rather than facilitating a loan.

The Toffees have held an interest in Roque over the summer and a move is likely, though any club wishing to sign him will have to seal a full deal, Sport said.

The report stated Roque’s representatives know Barca’s “conditions” and that a “definitive solution will be found in the coming days”.

Everton in pole position for Vitor Roque?

With Barcelona eager to get Roque off the books and Everton having made their interest clear, a move has already begun to gather momentum.

The Catalan giants have already touted Roque about to anyone interested [Graeme Bailey, 13 August] as they attempt to raise funds for their own transfer recruitment – which in years gone by has been nothing if not erratic.

Fabrizio Romano claimed on X on Wednesday [14 August] that the Toffees had yet to launch a bid to bring him to Goodison Park, with the consensus being that they must act now to prevent any competitors – likeliest to be Portuguese outfit Sporting CP – swooping in under their hesitant noses.

Dyche’s men could pay near £30m for the teenage talent [Sport, 14 August], whose camp will be keen to settle the uncertainty quickly and get Roque tied down to a long-term contract at a new home.

It remains to be seen whether the interest from this season’s potential survival rivals becomes anymore concrete.
