Everton set sights on Edoardo Bove amid Roma exit development – Di Marzio
Everton have turned their attention in the transfer market to AS Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Italian journalist reported on his website [16 August], that Sean Dyche has identified Bove as his latest target after Kalvin Phillips agreed a move to Ipswich Town.
Roma are keen to sell Paulo Dybala and Bove this summer, the midfielder featured 45 times for the Serie A side in all competitions last season.
Everton want to sign Edoardo Bove
The 22-year-old has been a regular starter in Rome but now finds himself out of favour under Daniele De Rossi with a move to the Premier League very much an option.
Everton need a centre-midfielder, James Garner who is currently sidelined through injury, and 34-year-old Idrissa Gueye are the club’s only two senior options.
Kalvin Phillips at one point, looked destined to play at Goodison Park this season but the Blues opted against the deal, due to his high wages and the £3m loan fee Manchester City required for the move.

Bove fits the profile of a more defensive-minded midfielder and unlike the Blues’ other transfer targets this summer, enjoyed an impressive campaign last term with one goal and two assists for his efforts.
Director of football Kevin Thelwell and Dyche have adapted their strategy to young promising talents with high-potential re-sale value and, can also make an immediate impact in the side.
Roma’s stance means Everton will not have to fork out too much to get their man and this would be another excellent coup for the club who have been navigating the transfer market with precision this summer.
